Benefits:

GLP-1 and GLP-2 blockers offer a plethora of benefits. You only need one injection per week to experience reduced appetite, increased metabolism + quicker weight loss. It's safe to use with supplements and other medications.

  • It suppresses your appetite, so you don't get hunger pangs as often.

  • It doesn't change your mood.

  • It decreases your food intake and, as a result, reduces your body's fat mass.

  • It's a reliable long-term weight management option.

Common side effects:

Common side effects can be (but are not limited to) abdominal discomfort, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, headache, low blood sugar, nausea and vomiting. These symptoms are usually mild and improve over time without intervention.

Serious side effects:

Severe abdominal pain that does not subside, uncontrolled vomiting (more than 5 times per day),

changes in vision, swelling in legs, difficulty swallowing and injection site reactions.

Mitigate the potential side effects by practicing the following:

  • Enjoy your meals slowly

  • Drink clear or iced beverages

  • Eat small, frequent meals

  • Don't lie down right after eating

  • Refrain from sweet, fried + greasy foods

  • Avoid late-night munchies

Important Notes:

  • Your first appointment needs to be scheduled approximately 14 days out to allow time for lab work (blood draw) and a Nurse Practitioner telehealth consultation (via FaceTime). The cost of the lab work is not included in Aesthetically Yours’ fee. These steps are required prior to receiving treatment.

  • Month 1: Introduction period. You will receive a microdose of GLP-1 or GLP-2 blockers to help your body adjust to the appetite suppressant being in your system. Your first injection will be administered at the med spa and you will take home three doses that you will administer weekly. Most patients lose a few pounds during this period.

  • Month 2: You will receive the minimum therapeutic dosage and should shed more pounds.

  • Month 3 and beyond: The Nurse Practitioner will likely increase your dosage to help you achieve the desired results.  The dosage is increased in increments up to 2.4 mg a week, pending your tolerance of the drug.
